Vince Rocca is a true entrepreneur, the latch key kid of a lower middle class salesman and an insurance agent, he mastered the art of risk taking and risk management at an early age.
At 14 Vince was making upwards of $1000 a week spinning records at house parties. Bored with school and fat with 'DJ' cash, he dropped out of the ninth grade.
At 16, realizing house parties wasn't a career, he got a job as a retail stock clerk. Within 2 years he was managing the company's third largest store and bought an investment home.
At 21 Vince cashed out of his home to open his own retail store. With a thriving retail business under his belt, it was time to pursue his passion for filmmaking. He took some profits and started a video production company.
Business wasn't always successful. In fact there was a point when the video company was near bankrupt. But thanks to swift action and a lucky phone call, the company went from $700 in the hole to $125,000 in less then 5 days. The profits from this sale would become the seed money for Kisses and Caroms.
Since Vince was a dropout, film school was not an option, but thanks to a video camera purchased when he was 16 and the advancements in computer technology, he started editing little projects. Slowly upgrading equipment to master new techniques, he became a self-taught editor.
He began reading every film book he could get his hands on and listening to movie commentaries. Then he received a brochure for the Dov S-S Simens film school claiming to teach the nuts and bolts of film making in two days. He might have tossed it, but the brochure listed Quentin Tarantino, Guy Ritchie and Chris Nolan, as some of its alumni. If they could do it, why couldn't he?
After attending this film boot camp, Vince hammered out a 92 page script and Kisses and Caroms was born.
He currently resides in Southern California with his childhood sweetheart Deanna. They have been happily married for over 10 years, and together for over 20 years. They have no children but many animals, some which can be seen throughout the movie.
Michael Hutchinson is just your ordinary average Gen-Xer who has a degree, but doesn't want a real job. He is a jack of all trades and a master of many. This makes him a great producer, because a producer knows where to get things, and how to get things done. Of course there is no better way to learn this, then through life experience.
He was born in the San Fernando Valley and moved to Santa Clarita in 1978. In 1988 Michael graduated from Hart High School and moved on to ACU (Abilene Christian University) where he absolutely hated it.
He came back to California and started an auto detailing business. Which he made great money working with oil companies and also with the studios, but could not picture himself doing that forever so back to school he went. ACU was the place to be, because his parents would pay the bill. So he became a dual major of Psychology and Theater. I know you're thinking 'future talk show host', huh? But no. Michael got suspended from ACU in '92 (oops) and back to Cali he went. He managed to finish up at San Diego State University and while there he became a Founding Father of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity on that campus. How many people can say their brother slept with Marilyn Monroe? (JFK was a Phi Kap!)
In his brief time here on planet earth Michael has been a camp counselor, a water ski/jet ski instructor, graduated bartending school and tended bar, been a youth detention counselor, a lifeguard, theme park ride operator, a swim/diving instructor, worked ski patrol, was a house manager for 3 major concert venues, an audio/visual technician, a radio DeeJay, a delivery driver, a scuba dive specialist, an airbrush tattoo artist, a volunteer for the Sunshine Kids (a national organization for cancer kids), a volunteer firefighter/EMT, a certified hypnotherapist, and a telephone psychic! Currently he is a father, a high school teacher, a reverend, and a producer.
Actor, Writer, Stand-Up Comedian, Tom Ayers had a great start in life. His mother, a US Gold Medalist Figure Skater and Father a Stand Up Comedian for over 25 years, Tom says he took the safe route and followed dad. "These were my choices: Jump and spin on ice with knives attached to my feet or tell funny stories to drunk people in Jersey. This is gonna hurt but, 2 Nuns walk into a bar... "
Tom started performing stand-up in Connecticut at 18 years old. Three months later he became a regular at Dangerfield's Comedy Club in NYC and eventually took to the road working up and down the East Coast. Atlantic City to Vegas, New York to LA, he's worked with comedians like Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Ray Romano, Tim Allen and more...
Tom has been in a master acting class for as long as he's been in LA and has had great success as an actor in roles for "Mad About You", "Malcolm In The Middle", "3rd Rock from the Sun", "Las Vegas", "The Riches", "The Shield", "CSI" just to name a few. Tom has written jokes for live performances with personalities like Garry Marshall, Don Adams, Tony Danza, and shows like The Peoples Choice Awards, Miss America Beauty Pageant and various Sitcoms and Indie Films.
Most of all he is clean, decent, wholesome and modest and it was hard for him to write this.
